Great food and great company on Christmas Day!

Thursday, December 25

Following a quiet night, I met Karen and Martin in the marina parking area at a little after 10 am, and off we went to visit Laura and Al, long-time friends of Martin’s. They served us a delightful croissant brunch in their lovely 1908 home while Walt remained on Braesail, tending the standing rib roast he was preparing for Christmas dinner in the evening.

We spent a relaxing afternoon in Braesail’s main cabin, chatting, listening to recordings of glorious Christmas music, watching an insightful and thought-provoking video about the downfall of the famous JoAnn fabric stores, shared a marvelous beef dinner with Yorkshire pudding and roasted potatoes, braised Brussels sprouts, homemade bread, and excellent red wine, with eggnog Crème Brûlée for dessert, and finally parted company after a warm and wonderful day!
