A calm, chilly, gray, rain-free day allowed us time for nice hot showers (Braesail has two “heads,” each of which contains a toilet, sink, and shower), reading (Walt), and catching up on blog-writing (me) while listing to more gorgeous Christmas music. Walt spent a bit of time fastening the wandering microwave much more securely into its niche, and in mid-afternoon I took a long and pleasant walk around the marina’s docks beneath thick pewter skies. I enjoyed looking at the many boats in Blue Heron Basin, and watched a parade of some 25 Canada geese gliding silently through the shallow water near the shore, of which quite a lot was visible at low tide. We napped, did our daily online German exercises, and caused more left-overs and treats to disappear during and after supper, and by midnight we were ready to conclude our day, having made plans to travel by bus to Victoria on Sunday to attend an organ recital at the cathedral.
