After a peaceful night at the dock in Deer Harbor, we motored for about three hours to Braesail’s home port in Anacortes. The trip was pleasant and uneventful, but the wind had risen a good bit by the time we’d pumped out our holding tank and backed the boat into her slip, and the docking and tie-up of the boat required more time and effort than we’d expected. We cleaned up the cabins, packed and readied our baggage for transport along the dock and up the steep ramp to the Prius, and found ourselves tired enough to nap in the aft cabin.
Not long after awakening, we packed the car, treated ourselves to a tasty dinner at a brew pub on the outskirts of Anacortes, drove the 50 miles back to Everett, and trundled our bags up to our condo after an “interesting” excursion!
Next trip: to Friday Harbor for the Anacortes Yacht Charters’ boat- owners’ rendezvous on the weekend of May 9-11?
