Martin’s ride to the first event of his week-long contact improvisation dance week collected him in the Ganges Harbour Marina at about 9 am as Walt, Karen, Hans, and I prepared for our homeward travels after enjoying smoked salmon and cream cheese on rye-krisp for breakfast. Hans and Karen rounded up their belongings and transferred food from Braesail to Sagres so that Martin would have breakfast and snack items, and they then walked, in increasing rain, from the marina to a stop from which a bus would take them to a ferry returning to Vancouver.
Walt and I left the dock shortly before 11 am and motored, sometimes in very heavy rain and sometimes in lighter showers, for a little over two hours to Prevost Harbor on Stuart Island, a place we have visited numerous times. We had to call to US Customs and Border Patrol to receive permission to re-enter the country (their phone app never works properly), and had no trouble docking near two other moored boats as the rain receded.
We spent the rest of the quiet, cloudy day resting, reading, relaxing, writing, and working on our DuoLingo French. After supper, we watched some videos, and looked forward to a very quiet night. We decided to spend Monday at the dock, and then travel on Tuesday to Orcas Island for a day before returning Braesail to her home slip in the Anacortes Marina on Wednesday.
